We are over a dozen people here following the teachings of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu. We do not have a 'center' in the Seattle area. It's usually around 4 to 10 people practicing informally together. We meet about 2 to 3 times a month at Heidi & Daniel' s house in Juanita, Kirkland, and also at the homes of other members. In addition we meet for practice days several times a year. Practice dates are being posted below and updated frequently. In March 2006 we founded a Gakhyil in Seattle and started to invite teachers from the Dzogchen Community after meeting more informally since 1997.

The Dzogchen teachings are neither a philosophy, nor a religious doctrine, nor a cultural tradition. Understanding the message of the teachings means discovering one's own true condition, stripped of all the self-deceptions and falsifications, which the mind creates. The very meaning of the term Dzogchen, "Great Perfection", refers to the true primordial state of every individual, and not to any transcendent reality.

Filmed over twenty years by acclaimed documentarian Jennifer Fox (Flying: Confessions of a Free Woman), MY REINCARNATION chronicles the epic story of the high Tibetan Buddhist Master, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, and his western-born son, Yeshi. The film follows Namkhai Norbu’s rise to greatness as a Buddhist teacher in the West, while his son, Yeshi, recognized at birth as the reincarnation of a famous spiritual master, breaks away from his father’s tradition to embrace the modern world. Can the father convince his son to keep the family’s threatened spiritual legacy alive? Never before has a high Tibetan Master allowed such complete access to his private life and it is doubtful that another ever will. With her signature intimate entry to both family and icons including the Dalai Lama, Fox expertly distills a decades-long drama into a universal story about love, transformation, and destiny.

Chögyal Namkhai Norbu is a Dzogchen master of Tibetan Buddhism highly trained in the Buddhist traditions of meditation, philosophy and medicine.
At his birth in 1938 at Geug, in the region of Derge (Eastern Tibet), Chögyal Namkhai Norbu was recognized as the reincarnation of the great Dzogchen teacher Adzam Drugpa (1842-1934). When he was five years old he was further recognized by the XVIth Karmapa as the mind emanation of Drug Zhabdrung Rinpoche, a prior reincarnation of the master Padma Karpo.
Chögyal Namkhai Norbu studied with some of the most important masters of his time and completed the training required by Buddhist tradition in both Sutra and Tantra. At the age of sixteen, he met Master Rigdzin Changchub Dorje, who introduced him to the authentic knowledge of the Dzogchen teachings.
In 1960 he was invited to Europe by the great Tibetan scholar Guisseppe Tucci and appointed Professor of Tibetan and Mongolian Language and Literature at the Oriental Institute, University of Naples. Since his retirement from the University of Naples, Rinpoche has traveled extensively throughout Europe, North and South America, the former Soviet Union and Asia transmitting in a direct and open way the precious treasury of Dzogchen teachings. He teaches in English, Italian and Tibetan according to the audience.
Chögyal Namkhai Norbu is author of many books and articles including The Crystal and the Way of Light (Routledge & Kegan Paul Ltd), Dzogchen the Self-Perfected State (Penguin Group), The Cycle of day and Night (Station Hill Press), and The Supreme Source (Snow Lion Publications).
